Napping Transit Worker Sparks Media Controversy

Response:

This was quite the story http://mashable.com/2010/01/23/napping-ttc-twitpic/ Things spread real fast on the internet.  From just one picture there are many comments some blaming the man and others going with him and basically saying that it wasn’t his fault, that people make mistakes.

The man who put the picture up was probably thinking that it was right to let people know that this transit worker is sleeping on them and for the people that go in for free thats amazing. They just saved a bunch of money but then again for the people that payed this sucks.Maybe if they were just a little bit late they would of got in for free. This situation should be heard of and something should happen about it and something has happened. Others  have started to put up pictures and see that he’s not the only one out there. People make mistakes but this is one that should be known.

News report

Lisa Leslie

Lisa Leslie

Everybody has favourite sport they like to watch on TV and everybody has a favourite player they like to watch. Every chosen one has a reason behind it. I chose Lisa Leslie and she has a very strong reason in my opinion. She is an important model to those who play and watch basketball, also to those in Women’s National Basketball Association; WNBA.

Lisa isn’t one those people who was born to be good at basketball, she practised a lot and thats what made her better. Lisa is a special individual that proved that women are equally important and can do things men can do

She was the first women in WNBA to slam a ball into a net, usually you would think that men do that in NBA with all their cool tricks and 3 pointers but ever thought about a girl doing that?

Lisa was someone a lot of little girls looked up to, I was one of them. She has made a significant impact on me and like I said before not only me. Lisa is one of those people that make you keep going in tough times. Not only women but men were impressed with Lisa’s skills.

Lisa Leslie had a quote that said “The ball goes in and out, thats the way the game bounces.” Too many that just doesn’t make any sense, so you think I don’t play basketball maybe thats why. Honestly thats not the reason behind it. It stumbles many and theres more than one way to look at it. For me it’s saying you win and you lose but thats just a way of life. We all have ups and downs! It also saying that we have moments in the game when we are losing and then times when we are winning and that is just the way the game goes!

In the end I chose Lisa Leslie because she has made a huge impact, inspired me and many, also she was the first women in WNBA to do a slam dunk!

This reminds me of a time when we had a bee hive in our backyard and my brother  and I tried to do everything to get them away but whatever we did they wouldn’t go, just like Lily tried to get rid of the bees and they wouldn’t go.

Where I’m from – May

I’m from Tiburon, South Carolina, a town with secrets to a wonderful family that’s always there for you.See full size image

I’m from 4 sisters August the oldest and then June the next one in order to April sadly my dead twin sister and me the youngest of the ones left.

I’m from a group of people that love to tell stories and my mothers always use to say. “Stories have to be told or they die, we can’t remember who we are or why we’re here if it isn’t for stories!”

I’m from buzzing bees to honey combs and the honey house to the pink house. Pink being my favourite colour and my generous older sister August had told me I could pick a colour and we would paint the house that colour.

I’m from my beautiful backyard with lots of memories with a forest and a river stream to a garden with many things.

I’m from the wall with my stories, expressing my feelings to tears down my cheeks with the sound of Oh Susanna.

I’m from the delicious smell throughout the house with empty stomachs waiting at the table ready to be served. I’m from Bologna sandwiches to fried okra and pork chops, each one a favourite of one of my sisters.

I’m from scary quiet nights alone in the dark; lying on my bed with millions of thoughts going through my head to listening to June play her music.

I’m from fun times and serious moments. I’m from “You can over here and you get wet

I’m from singing songs “Place a beehive on my grave and let the honey soak through. When I’m dead and gone, that’s what I want from you. The streets of heaven are gold and sunny, but I’ll stick with my plot and a pot of honey. Place a beehive on my grave and let the honey soak through!”

Prediction; The secret life of bees

Filed under: Uncategorized — Bhavjot B at 4:17 pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2009

I predict that Lily and Rosaleen will end up staying with the daughters of Mary; May, June, August.. also known as the Boatwright sisters.

Another prediction I have is that Lily will end up telling the truth about what happened to her and her past life.  She will tell August first.

The Boatwright sister will take care of Lily and make her part of their life because of they way they are. They haven’t been treating her bad or anything.

I think that the police will come after Rosaleen and take her away, but then again they could just forget about them. Unless T-Ray complained about it.

Lily will feel like April’s replacement because of the way she is treated. She isn’t black but she lives with them and they don’t treat her any different.

The note that Lily put up to May’s wall will come back to her and will make her admit her past and maybe it will make May depressed.

Rosaleen will get to vote and fight for herself and the other black people.

I am from memories and photos framed to walls and awards and ribbons up in my room.

I am from “Get off the computer and play outside.” to “Do your homework before going outside.” and from putting bits and pieces back to its places.

I am from sitting enjoying the beatiful outdoors under the bench at the park to drawing silly faces and writing random names on driveways and parkways with chalk.

I am from crazy all nighters with games and drinks to just hanging out with friends and yelling and screaming close and far whether it would be from flying balls to screaming bees. Where I’m from is is watching movies until 4 am with Jasdeep, Avdeep and Sundeep.
